ShanghaiApril 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — On April 25, at the 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, Quectel, in collaboration with UNISOC, launched the new high-performance automotive-grade 5G communication module series AR59xUB. The product focuses on the core connectivity needs of mid-to-high-end intelligent vehicles, integrating advantages such as high bandwidth, high integration, high computing power, and low power consumption, delivering exceptional connection efficiency, more precise positioning capabilities, and efficient system coordination for vehicles.


This series of modules is built on UNISOC’s new-generation automotive-grade 5G cellular communication processor chipset A7726, deeply integrating 5G communication, C-V2X vehicle-to-everything coordination, and BeiDou high-precision positioning technology. It not only achieves “communication-navigation integration” capabilities but also establishes a benchmark-level in-vehicle wireless communication solution with fully autonomous, highly integrated chip design, providing stable and reliable communication and positioning assurance for intelligent connected vehicles.


Hardcore Performance: 5G R16 + High Computing Power, Meeting ADAS Demands for High Bandwidth and Edge Computing

In terms of core communication performance, the AR59xUB series demonstrates robust strength. The module fully supports the 3GPP Release 16 communication protocol, with software upgradable to support Release 17 features, offering 200 MHz bandwidth and NR 2CC dual carrier aggregation capability, with a peak downlink rate of up to 5.0 Gbps. Combined with Gigabit Ethernet communication capabilities, it smoothly supports high-bandwidth services such as real-time HD map updates, in-vehicle entertainment streaming, and massive data interaction between vehicles and infrastructure, completely resolving data transmission lag and latency issues in assisted driving scenarios.

To address communication stability needs in complex driving environments, the module leverages Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA) technology, enabling dual-network parallel transmission and isolation of critical service channels. This effectively mitigates risks of weak single-network signals or interruptions, significantly enhancing network coverage and communication reliability in complex road conditions and remote areas.

In terms of computing power, the module features a quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 processor with computing power up to 22K DMIPS, providing ample computing reserves for scenarios such as multi-device coordination, real-time data processing, and in-vehicle edge computing, efficiently meeting the vehicle’s needs for rapid response and precise decision-making.

As an integrated communication-navigation in-vehicle communication solution, the AR59xUB series deeply integrates C-V2X vehicle-to-everything coordination technology, supporting LTE-V2X direct communication with a peak rate of 48 Mbps. It enables low-latency, high-reliability information exchange between vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), and vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P), providing early warnings for hazardous road conditions, sudden accidents, and other risks, adding significant safety assurance. This aligns closely with the test scenario requirements of the 2027 China New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP), such as hazard warning vehicle alerts and accident vehicle alerts.

In terms of positioning, the module supports BeiDou dual-frequency high-precision positioning, offering precise location services and coordination capabilities, providing strong support for scenarios such as assisted driving, traffic efficiency optimization, and route planning. It also offers a BeiDou-priority positioning mode, fully meeting new national standard requirements.

All Key Materials Domestically Sourced, Cross-Platform Compatibility Accelerates Customer Mass Production

Notably, the AR59xUB series achieves full domestic sourcing of key materials, with baseband, RF, V2X, storage, and other core components all using domestic automotive-grade solutions. These components feature high robustness, comply with IATF 16949 automotive standards, and can adapt to complex temperature, humidity, and vibration conditions in in-vehicle scenarios, ensuring long-term stable product operation.

On the hardware level, the product continues Quectel’s universal automotive-grade module packaging and pin definitions, supporting drop-in replacement without requiring significant adjustments to existing product designs. This helps customers quickly complete product upgrades, significantly shortening development cycles and reducing R&D costs.

On the software level, the module adopts Quectel’s proprietary QuecOpen® architecture, allowing smooth software system continuity. The API interfaces are highly reusable with mainstream platforms, significantly reducing customer software development workload and further improving mass production efficiency.

Additionally, the AR59xUB covers both domestic and international mainstream frequency bands, meeting the mass production needs of global automakers, while also supporting eCall/NG-eCall emergency call systems to comprehensively enhance driving safety.
