Multiple Green and Environmental Solutions Covering Degradation, Recycling, and Low-Carbon Fields

Against the backdrop of the global push for “circular economy” and “carbon reduction” policies, environmentally friendly materials are transitioning from concept to large-scale application. At this exhibition, TÜV Rheinland showcased a range of solutions covering biodegradable materials, circular recycling, and carbon management, and issued corresponding certificates to five companies.

TÜV Rheinland awarded CJ Biomaterials a DIN CERTCO (German Institute for Standardization Certification Center) home compost certification for its PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoate) raw material, enhancing its global certification layout and accelerating international market expansion.

TÜV Rheinland awarded Beijing Microcyte Biotechnology Co., Ltd. a DIN CERTCO home compost certification for its PHA-coated paper and paper cups. The company has established a strategic partnership with TÜV Rheinland, covering various products including PHA pure materials, modified materials, PHA straws, PHA tableware, PHA-coated paper, and PHA-coated paper tableware, all undergoing biodegradability testing at TÜV Rheinland.

TÜV Rheinland awarded Dongguan Xinhai Environmental Protection Materials Co., Ltd. DIN CERTCO industrial and home compost certifications for its SH 200 and SH 300 shopping bags, verifying the materials’ degradation capabilities in both industrial and home composting scenarios.

TÜV Rheinland awarded Shanghai Laimi New Material Technology Co., Ltd. a DIN CERTCO home compost certification for its PHA straws and cutlery sets, facilitating their entry into the European green consumption and public procurement system.

TÜV Rheinland awarded Lianji Plastic Raw Materials Factory Co., Ltd. a TÜV Rheinland Recycled Content Product Verification for its recycled polystyrene (PS) plastic pellets. Following rigorous review, the product successfully met ISO 14021, EN 15343, and recycled material product certification standards, helping the company access recycled material markets in Europe and Japan.

From “Claiming Green” to “Verifiable”: Environmental Materials Enter the Era of Standardization

Currently, market attention on environmentally friendly materials is shifting from “whether they are green” to “how to prove they are green.” Based on international standards such as DIN CERTCO and ISO, TÜV Rheinland systematically evaluates materials in terms of degradation performance, ecological safety, recycling utilization, and carbon emissions.

Through standardized assessments, companies can effectively enhance product market recognition, confidently meet increasingly stringent regulatory requirements in the EU and globally, and reduce trade compliance risks.

Special Topic Sharing: Environmental Certification is Becoming a “Market Language”

During the exhibition, TÜV Rheinland held a special sharing session on “DIN CERTCO Environmental Certification,” systematically analyzing hot topics such as industrial compost certification, home compost certification, soil biodegradation certification, marine biodegradation certification, recycled material certification, and product carbon footprint (PCF) verification services. As international brands and retail channels impose higher environmental requirements, certification is transitioning from a “bonus item” to a “market entry threshold.”

As a globally leading technical service provider, TÜV Rheinland stated that it will continue to leverage its global network and localized capabilities, investing consistently in biodegradation, circular economy, and low-carbon fields, to help companies seize development advantages in the new wave of green competition.
