In this co-creation, XPeng Motors and Nippon Paint broke free from the boundaries of traditional color definition, injecting a unique color soul into the GX and MONA M03 based on a precise deconstruction of the deep aesthetic preferences of their target customer groups. Both parties rigorously pursued the rich effect of “color flop” (angle-dependent color shift). Leveraging Nippon Paint’s mature five-angle color synchronization calibration system, they ensured precise color correlation at every angle of light refraction, achieving a coordinated and layered color transition as the viewing angle changes. This color philosophy, applied to different models, gave rise to two distinct visual expressions. For the GX, targeting family and business users, Danxia Red was chosen to meet their dual expectations of composed dignity and luxurious texture. The paint uses natural mica as the effect base material, layering metallic and pearlescent particles over a rich wine-red base. The gloss is warm and restrained, naturally transitioning from gray tones to deep red with changing viewing angles, revealing luxury in understatement. For the MONA M03, focusing on the younger generation, Roland Purple precisely taps into trendy aesthetics. The paint employs nano-level pigments, with particles much finer than conventional automotive paints, resulting in a purer, more translucent finish.
