Deepening Comprehensive Collaboration, Forging New Paths for Market Access
As the fourth-largest automotive market globally, Brazil is attracting increasing investment and deployment from overseas complete vehicle and supply chain companies, driven by its market potential and industrial policies. Against this backdrop, close collaboration between technical service providers and local product certification bodies has become a key pillar for companies to efficiently and compliantly enter the Brazilian market.
During the exchange, the two sides reached a consensus on optimization directions for the existing INMETRO certification cooperation for components, aiming to further enhance audit efficiency and mutual market influence through standardized management. Addressing new compliance requirements for complete vehicles, particularly based on Brazil’s INMETRO Ordinance No. 59/2022, “Regulation for Conformity Assessment in the Manufacturing of Accessible Buses for Urban Public Passenger Transport,” the parties preliminarily aligned on core aspects such as mandatory certification processes, factory audits, and the division of qualifications and responsibilities. They also confirmed a joint intention to provide one-stop market access services for Chinese original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) entering the Brazilian market.
Furthermore, looking at medium- to long-term trends in the automotive industry, the two sides exchanged views on frontier areas such as digital business and sustainable development. Leveraging their respective mature business systems, TÜV SÜD and IQA explored the feasibility of jointly developing tailored solutions for the Brazilian automotive market, aiming to cultivate new growth drivers for the future while consolidating traditional cooperation advantages.
Two Decades of Partnership, Embarking on a New Milestone
During the exchange, the two sides jointly held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their collaboration. Over the past two decades, TÜV SÜD and IQA have established robust technical trust and efficient coordination mechanisms in the certification of vehicle components exported to Brazil, providing strong technical support for numerous component manufacturers, including those from China, to enter the Brazilian market. This high-level dialogue not only summarizes past cooperation achievements but also marks a step forward for the partnership into broader and higher-level domains.
