Focusing on EU Regulations and Sustainability Issues, Empowering Global Compliance for Enterprises
During the exhibition, Christian Theeck, Global Head of Energy Products at TÜV SÜD, was invited to participate in an industry forum and deliver a keynote speech, interpreting trends in the EU Green Deal and battery regulations, and sharing practical pathways for companies to address global compliance challenges.

Forum Scene
Christian noted that, against the backdrop of advancing EU sustainability policies, the battery industry is transitioning from traditional product safety compliance to a green and compliant management system covering the entire lifecycle. Relevant regulatory frameworks are reshaping market access rules from multiple dimensions, imposing higher requirements on companies. At the same time, regulatory upgrades are driving companies to continuously improve in areas such as low-carbon development, supply chain management, and technological innovation, accelerating the building of differentiated competitive advantages.
Promoting Reliable Implementation of Battery Passports, DBP TÜV SÜD Mark Leads New Path for Data Compliance
In another specialized forum, TÜV SÜD delivered a speech on the topic “DBP TÜV SÜD Mark, Enabling Reliable Battery Passports,” providing an in-depth analysis of the implementation background of EU battery passports and key challenges for companies.
The speech pointed out that the implementation of the EU Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542) is accelerating the transition of battery passports from concept to practice. Battery passports are not only an important compliance tool for companies entering the EU market but also serve as a data carrier throughout the battery lifecycle, with the core focus on ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and trustworthiness.
Regarding the implementation of battery passports, TÜV SÜD proposed a verification framework centered on the DBP TÜV SÜD mark, focusing on three key capability areas:
- Regulatory and Data Compliance: Ensures battery passport data is complete, accurate, and continuously updated, with clear access and backup mechanisms for transparent and traceable data.
- Cybersecurity: Establishes a security system covering development, system design, vulnerability management, and update maintenance to ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Software Quality and System Reliability: Ensures systems are stable, reliable, and quality-controlled in terms of functionality, performance, compatibility, and version management.
As a globally leading technical service provider, TÜV SÜD has established a technical system covering the entire lifecycle in the field of battery and energy storage safety. Through the synergistic application of standards research and testing certification, along with a global service network, TÜV SÜD is continuously driving the energy storage industry toward safer, greener, and more efficient development. In the future, TÜV SÜD will continue to collaborate with industry partners to jointly address the challenges and opportunities brought by the global energy transition, helping the new energy industry move toward a new stage of high-quality development.
