Harold Pradal, Global President of Certification at BSI, delivered a keynote speech, sharing BSI’s 125-year mission and impact in shaping the world through standards. Baoshan District and BSI deepened their strategic partnership by jointly launching research on the “Future City Sustainable Development Green Index Framework,” with pilot applications first implemented in Baoshan District. The index is built on three pillars: “industrial transformation, urban transformation, and lifestyle transformation,” corresponding to three dimensions: “urban renewal, digital city, and people’s city.” It covers 20 key areas, including green factories, zero-carbon parks, green supply chains, digital construction, information security and compliance management, education and talent introduction, and public health and safety, encompassing a total of 100 specific indicators such as circular economy, energy efficiency improvement, green manufacturing, “one-stop online service” evaluation, and average life expectancy of residents. As a key part of the certification ceremony, BSI officially awarded the Data Center Trusted Mark (Facility) certificate to Safaricom Limuru Data Centre. The BSI Data Center Trusted Mark is based on international standards such as ISO/IEC 22237, conducting independent and transparent rigorous assessments of data center facilities and services across five core dimensions: availability and protection, business continuity, energy management, water management, and carbon management.
