LOUISVILLE, KentuckyMay 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — This June, Louisville-based distillery Michter’s will launch its 10-Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey.
Michter’s Announces Highly Anticipated 10-Year Rye for 2026
Michter’s President Joseph J. Magliocco noted: “At tastings, we occasionally encounter bourbon enthusiasts who are hesitant to try rye whiskey due to past experiences. We explain to them that Michter’s produces a Kentucky-style rye whiskey, which differs from many other American ryes. Typically, these bourbon lovers find that they actually enjoy our rye whiskey very much.”
Michter’s Master Distiller Dan McKee said: “Our Kentucky-style rye whiskey is crafted with a mash bill that contains higher proportions of corn and malted barley than many other ryes. The resulting rye whiskey is balanced, with a rich sweetness and complex flavors that complement the spice notes.”
For over twenty-five years, rye whiskey has been a focus for Michter’s. According to Michter’s Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson, barrel construction and aging processes are crucial to ensuring the quality and flavor of Michter’s 10-Year Rye. Wilson explained: “The key to aging Michter’s 10-Year Rye lies in creating a barrel that can withstand over a decade of aging, fully showcasing the beauty and elegance of Kentucky-style rye whiskey. This whiskey is complex and refined, presenting baked spice, citrus, and floral characteristics, with the sweetness and maturity of oak enhancing these flavors.”
Michter’s 10-Year Rye is a 92.8 proof (46.4% ABV) spirit, bottled as a single barrel, with a suggested retail price of $210 in the United States.
In October 2025, Michter’s became the first whiskey brand to be named “The World’s Most Admired Whiskey” for three consecutive years. The selection is determined by a vote of an international panel convened by the UK-based Drinks International.
