CAS Connections Brings Trusted Scientific Data and AI to Leading R&D Platforms

CAS Announces Multiple Strategic Collaborations, Embedding Trusted Scientific Data and CAS Newton Agentic AI into Leading Workflow Tools to Boost Research Efficiency

COLUMBUS, OhioJune 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society specializing in scientific knowledge management, today announced the launch of CAS Connections. This new integration framework embeds the CAS Content Collection™ and the recently launched agentic AI, CAS Newton℠, directly into the R&D tools researchers already use. Through initial collaborations with Albert Invent, Sapio Sciences, Inductive Bio, Scilligence, and Wolfram Research, CAS content and capabilities are being introduced into their platforms, bringing trusted scientific information to where scientific discovery happens.

R&D teams rely on a range of powerful digital platforms to drive scientific progress. CAS Connections enhances these platforms by integrating over 150 years of accumulated CAS scientific knowledge and the conversational intelligence of CAS Newton directly into the tools researchers already trust. This integrated access to validated scientific information boosts confidence in AI-generated answers and streamlines research workflows.

“With CAS Connections, a scientist evaluating a new compound can search CAS for existing technology, safety data, or synthetic routes without leaving their research platform,” said Tim Wahlberg, Interim President of CAS. “By integrating with these platforms, we can rapidly expand the value CAS provides in digital R&D workflows, placing authoritative scientific knowledge directly within the researchers’ existing working environment.”

The collaborations between CAS and Albert Invent, Sapio Sciences, Inductive Bio, Scilligence, and Wolfram Research represent the first phase of CAS Connections integration. Additional collaborations will be announced later this year.

CAS Connections supports deployment within secure environments via APIs, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and AI platform integrations for tools such as Anthropic Claude and Microsoft Copilot. Researchers can combine CAS data and the capabilities driving CAS SciFinder® and CAS BioFinder® with their organization’s proprietary internal resources, within their chosen combination of workflow platforms. With the integration of CAS Newton, aligned with CAS AI ethics principles, researchers can conduct conversational, multi-step research and receive verifiable answers with citations.

“In the future we are building, chemists spend their time inventing, not wrestling with tools,” said Nick Talken, CEO and Co-Founder of Albert Invent. “By embedding CAS science and structured data directly into Albert OS, scientists can let the right data find them based on their research intent, without needing to switch between different systems or manually transfer information.”

Efficient discovery requires scientists to have seamless access to reliable data and insights at every stage of the innovation process. CAS Connections provides this capability directly within the tools scientists already use, reducing context switching and maintaining research momentum.

“CAS has built one of the most comprehensive maps of scientific information,” said Josh Haimson, CEO and Co-Founder of Inductive Bio. “Inductive Bio’s AI chemistry assistant presents reaction databases, known transformations, and chemical data that inspire compound design based on synthetic precedent, integrate collective SAR knowledge, and assess novelty and FTO during the design phase—all within a single platform.”
