ShenzhenJune 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Recently, the self-developed ophthalmic innovative drug GB10 injection, used for the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), completed the first subject enrollment and dosing in its Phase I clinical trial in China. This drug was developed by Shenzhen Kexing Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (referred to as: Shenzhen Kexing), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kexing Biopharm. The company’s innovative drug research and development process continues to accelerate.
The GB10 project is a high-concentration ophthalmic protein drug formulation independently developed by Shenzhen Kexing, featuring a dual-target antibody against VEGF/Ang-2. The concentration of GB10 injection reaches 140 mg/mL, which can reduce injection volume or increase dosage, thereby extending the dosing interval. It is expected to achieve dosing once every four months to improve patient compliance. Preclinical data show that the biological activity and animal efficacy of GB10 injection are internationally competitive. In a laser-induced monkey CNV (choroidal neovascularization) efficacy model, it effectively inhibits ocular neovascularization.
Neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) is one of the leading causes of blindness among people aged 50 and above worldwide. With the rapid development of the internet, increased usage time of electronic screens such as mobile phones, and an aging population, the clinical demand for ophthalmic drugs is growing. Treatment regimens that extend dosing intervals help address clinical pain points such as high injection frequency and low patient compliance.
On one hand, the company is accelerating the independent research and development of ophthalmic dual-target antibody drugs. On the other hand, it is actively introducing ophthalmic products for overseas markets, such as Aflibercept biosimilars and Olopatadine Hydrochloride eye drops. While continuing to innovate, the company is expanding overseas markets and accelerating its internationalization pace.
In the future, the company will uphold the philosophy of “Precision Pharmaceuticals, Precision Medication, and Health Protection,” providing more high-quality and accessible treatment options for patients worldwide.
