SingaporeJune 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — WuXi Biologics (2269.HK), a global leading Contract Research, Development, and Manufacturing Organization (CRDMO), announced the completion of the structural topping-out of the modular biologics drug product (DP) manufacturing facility at its Singapore CRDMO Center. Designed and built to the latest and most stringent international market standards, this facility will become the company’s core DP manufacturing base, with an estimated annual production capacity of approximately 100 million pre-filled syringes and vials.
Located in the Tuas Biomedical Park, the Singapore CRDMO Center spans 13.5 hectares. Once completed, it will become Singapore’s first comprehensive CRDMO base dedicated to the full chain of biologics services. Leveraging WuXi Biologics’ proprietary technology platforms and industry-leading capabilities, the center will provide “dual-sourcing” solutions for global biopharmaceutical companies. The center is expected to add 120,000 liters of new production capacity to the company’s global manufacturing network and further strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading biomedical hub. Within the center, the Singapore ADC manufacturing facility of WuXi XDC, a subsidiary of WuXi Biologics, completed mechanical completion in 2025.
This modular DP manufacturing facility covers an area of approximately 30,000 square meters. It is equipped with advanced production lines, a Quality Control (QC) central laboratory supporting product release and stability testing, and a Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) laboratory, significantly enhancing the company’s end-to-end DP service capabilities. Additionally, the facility is configured with three pre-filled syringe (PFS) production lines and two liquid and lyophilized vial production lines, providing integrated DP manufacturing services covering clinical and commercial stages, and supporting multiple dosage forms. Committed to sustainable development, the facility will adopt green technologies such as solar energy and be equipped with an advanced energy monitoring and analysis system, with operations expected to commence in 2027.
Dr. Chris Chen, CEO of WuXi Biologics, stated: “We are delighted to celebrate another significant milestone at the Singapore CRDMO Center. Leveraging the company’s globally leading quality systems, cutting-edge innovation, and operational excellence, this key progress will significantly enhance our ability to build a robust and diversified global supply chain, better serving our global biologics partners. At the same time, we are committed to giving back to the Singapore community and driving the long-term development of the local biomedical industry.”
Construction of the Singapore CRDMO Center is progressing steadily, with the drug substance (DS) manufacturing facility currently in the design phase. This center represents a crucial step in WuXi Biologics’ global expansion and underscores the company’s long-term commitment as a preferred partner for global biopharmaceutical companies.
Currently, WuXi Biologics has operations in China, the United States, Ireland, Germany, and Singapore, with a total of 24 DS manufacturing facilities and 18 DP manufacturing facilities in operation. Through its “Global Dual-Sourcing Strategy,” the company’s global network is dedicated to providing clients with integrated dual-source supply covering DS and DP, spanning the entire lifecycle from clinical development to commercial-scale manufacturing. As of the end of 2025, WuXi Biologics has successfully passed 46 global regulatory authority inspections, including 22 from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), with zero critical findings and zero data integrity issues.
