ShanghaiJune 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The 2026 China “Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” has arrived as scheduled, with this year’s theme being “Intangible Cultural Heritage, Making Life Better.” When intangible cultural heritage merges with travel, it not only makes traditional culture tangible and perceptible but also fosters deeper connections and meaning among people. As a “global gathering place,” Sheraton Hotels & Resorts‘ “Gatherings by Sheraton” brand program continuously integrates intangible cultural heritage into its shared lobbies and guest experiences, turning open, communal spaces and diverse activities into bridges for guests to connect and explore local culture, making gatherings warmer and more resonant. With the summer season approaching, the rich cultural experiences also make Sheraton an ideal choice for family trips.

Since 2024, Sheraton has partnered with the China Women’s Development Foundation’s “Genius Mom” public welfare project to create cultural experiences that blend fun and creativity. From intangible cultural heritage art exhibitions conveying blessings for “big and small joys,” to creative coffee incorporating heritage pattern elements, to the “Joyful Connections” interactive installation evoking travel memories, Sheraton invites guests to share in gathering moments through the beauty of intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship.
Starting this June, over 13 “Genius Mom” intangible cultural heritage handicraft workshops will launch at multiple Sheraton hotels in Greater China. Eight heritage inheritors will lead workshops featuring eight distinctive traditional techniques, including Wa brocade, Li brocade, and Kaifeng embroidery. Guests can not only create their own pieces but also listen to the cultural stories behind the crafts, experiencing the beauty of gathering through interaction and exchange.
