Nippon Paint Joins WorldSkills Yangtze River Delta Tour at Huangshan University, China’s Training Base for “Painting and Decorating”

ShanghaiJune 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — On June 17, the “Neng Neng Qiao Qiao Roaming the Yangtze River Delta” WorldSkills Tour, jointly organized by the Shanghai WorldSkills Executive Bureau, Liberation Daily, and the WorldSkills Museum, arrived at Huangshan University in Anhui Province. Nippon Paint, as the Platinum Sponsor of the 48th WorldSkills Competition, specially supported this tour and invited its star lecturer from the Industrial Talent Development Center, Huang Jian, to campus, bringing a unique “Skills Carnival” to local students. As the core carriers of the tour, three WorldSkills-themed caravans set sail from Shanghai on June 10, transforming into “mobile WorldSkills museums.” They traveled through ten cities across Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces, conducting themed lectures at ten key technical colleges in Suzhou, Wuxi, Huangshan, and other locations, bringing precious exhibits from the WorldSkills Museum and the inspiring stories of champion competitors to young people in the Yangtze River Delta.

As the Platinum Sponsor of the 48th WorldSkills Competition and a special supporter of this tour, Nippon Paint specially created and exhibited exquisite three-dimensional artistic coating works inside the caravans, vividly showcasing the craftsmanship behind coating skills. This work was created by Huang Jian, who won first place in the Shanghai selection competition for the Visual Merchandising project at the 45th WorldSkills Competition and currently serves as a lecturer at Nippon Paint’s Industrial Talent Development Center. He also serves as the technical support lead for the “Painting and Decorating” project of China’s national training team for this WorldSkills Competition.

Huang Jian drew inspiration from the famous Chinese painting “A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains,” using products such as Nippon Paint Magic Paint and Nippon Paint Xili Foam to transform traditional blue-green landscape art from a flat surface into a 3D landscape. Through precise spray gradients and contrasts in material texture, he vividly demonstrated the rigorous requirements of the WorldSkills “Painting and Decorating” project in terms of creative design, material control, and manual precision.

Over the years, the two parties have continuously explored skill talent cultivation models, creating internship and employment opportunities for more college students and supplying high-quality skilled talent to the industry.

As the tour activities deepen, the attention and enthusiasm for WorldSkills culture among young people continue to rise. Ms. Fu Junying, General Manager of Nippon Paint China’s Industrial Talent Development Center, stated: “Nippon Paint is honored to provide comprehensive support and assistance for the 48th WorldSkills Competition, further promoting WorldSkills culture and the spirit of craftsmanship, allowing more young people to get closer to WorldSkills and appreciate the beauty of craftsmanship behind skills.
