In-depth Analysis of Chinese Smart Healthcare Going Global, Empowering Global Development for Enterprises

On June 12, at the Smart Healthcare Special Salon held at the AI-empowered Smart Hospital booth, Zhang Fan, Business Development Manager for Medical Device Services at TÜV Rheinland Greater China, gave a presentation titled “Analysis of China’s Medical Device Export Situation.” Combining the latest industry data from 2025, he focused on China’s medical device export landscape, introduced the registration status under the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) / EU In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices Regulation (IVDR), and the overall picture of China’s medical device registration and approval in 2025. He analyzed the overall scale, categories, regional, and country-specific patterns of import and export trade for the year, and summarized and forecasted industry development trends in areas such as domestic substitution of high-end devices and the implementation of innovative technologies.

That afternoon, at the China Smart Healthcare Going Global Co-creation Conference, Zhang Fan delivered a speech on the theme “Smart Healthcare Going Global: EU and International Market Access Compliance Practices.” He systematically outlined the medical device access requirements for the two core markets of the EU and the United States, and interpreted the ongoing updates to the EU MDR regulations. From the regulatory framework to practical details, from the current transition period to the future MDR 2.0, he provided attending companies with a clear roadmap for market access in Europe and the United States.

On June 13, the supporting event of this year’s CSITF, the “Shanghai Global Connect (Yangtze River Delta) Intelligent Manufacturing Seminar,” was successfully held. The seminar focused on the multi-party ecosystem co-building of “industrial platforms + financial capital + international compliance,” aiming to help intelligent manufacturing enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region integrate into the global supply chain.

During the seminar, TÜV Rheinland signed a four-party strategic cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Modern Service Industry Federation, the Shanghai Climate Week Executive Committee, and Kunshan Yinqiao Holding Group Co., Ltd. The four parties will focus on the theme of “Compliance Safeguarding, Low-Carbon Transformation,” jointly empowering specialized and new enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region to align with international standards and integrate into the global green supply chain. In the keynote speech session, Chen Jiaqi, AI Expert in Industrial Services and Information Security at TÜV Rheinland Greater China, delivered a speech on “AI Security Challenges in Intelligent Manufacturing Going Global.” He deeply analyzed key issues such as data security, algorithm compliance, and alignment with international standards that AI technology faces in the process of intelligent manufacturing going global.

In the subsequent roundtable discussion, guests including Gu Zhirong, Chen Jiaqi, Xu Xinqi, Investment Director of Suzhou Fund, and Qi Xiaolei, General Manager of Shanghai Gangyi Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd., engaged in an in-depth dialogue on the theme “Industry-Finance-Regulation Synergy: Building Global Competitiveness for the Intelligent Manufacturing Industry.” They discussed core pain points for intelligent manufacturing enterprises in landing, financing, and going global; how “industrial platforms + financial capital + international compliance” can form a closed-loop service; and how to leverage complementary advantages to help enterprises align with global standards and expand into international markets.
