BEIJINGJune 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The 4th China International Supply Chain Expo (hereinafter referred to as “CISCE”) opened today at the China International Exhibition Center. Sanofi, a global leading biopharmaceutical company, made its debut in the Healthy Living Chain exhibition area under the theme “Connecting China, Co-creating a New Health Ecosystem.” Through four exhibition spaces—”Health China Value Chain,” “Scientific Breakthrough Innovation Chain,” “Digital Future Intelligent Manufacturing Chain,” and “Public Health Guardian Chain”—the company systematically showcased its end-to-end local value chain capabilities in China, with innovation at its core, as well as its latest practices in continuously connecting research, manufacturing, and China’s public health initiatives.
Sanofi Greater China President Shi Wang stated: “China is a key strategic market for us. Facing growing healthcare demands, building a resilient and evolving local end-to-end value chain is our solemn commitment to deepening our presence in China and benefiting patients. Leveraging the CISCE as a hub platform that promotes openness and collaboration, we look forward to continuing to serve as a bridge connecting global innovation with local needs, working with partners to accelerate the implementation of innovative achievements, continuously meeting the health needs of Chinese patients, advancing ‘Healthy China,’ and co-creating a high-level health future.”

Sanofi appears at CISCE for the third consecutive year
Boosting R&D, Intelligent Manufacturing, and Innovation Ecosystem to Forge a Resilient “China Value Chain”
As one of the first multinational companies to enter China after the reform and opening-up, Sanofi has established three production bases and four R&D bases in the country. Focusing on the four major chronic disease areas prioritized by the “Healthy China” strategy—cardiovascular, metabolic, respiratory, and oncology—as well as urgent patient needs in immunology, transplantation, and rare diseases, Sanofi provides immunization prevention to over 5 million Chinese citizens annually, with innovative drugs benefiting nearly 300 million chronic disease patients.
At this year’s CISCE, Sanofi showcased an impressive report card on deepening its strategic layout in China. On the manufacturing front, a Beijing insulin active pharmaceutical ingredient production base, with a total investment of approximately 1 billion euros—a record single investment for the company in China—officially broke ground earlier this year. In the future, the new base will accelerate production transformation by introducing real-time data analysis and AI automation technology, and will form a highly synergistic network with existing production bases in Beijing, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou, creating a high-quality supply chain covering APIs to finished products.
On the R&D and innovation front, Sanofi continues to accelerate the translation of global cutting-edge scientific achievements in China. With the official launch of its first China Innovation and Operations Center in Chengdu and the strategic upgrade of its Shanghai China R&D Center, approximately one-third of Sanofi’s global new research projects will be conducted in China in the future, ensuring China’s participation in over 90% of global simultaneous development projects. At the same time, Sanofi is deepening close collaboration with the local innovation ecosystem, accelerating the clinical application and implementation of innovative therapies in all aspects, and more efficiently serving China’s unique disease spectrum.
Deepening Presence in Public Health to Become a Trusted Long-term Partner
This year marks the dual milestones of the 30th anniversary of Sanofi’s influenza vaccine Vaxigrip® in China and the 15th anniversary of the pentavalent vaccine Pentaxim®. At this year’s CISCE, Sanofi actively promoted value dialogue across the industry chain and presented a panoramic view of the development history of Sanofi’s vaccine business in China, as well as the “China journey” of influenza vaccines—from strain transportation and full local production to public vaccination.
As the first multinational vaccine company to enter China in 1996, Sanofi pioneered the introduction of advanced preventive products to China, including the first rabies vaccine, influenza virus split vaccine, inactivated polio vaccine, pentavalent vaccine, and respiratory syncytial virus prevention monoclonal antibody, committed to becoming a trusted partner in China’s public health system. To date, Sanofi has supplied over 100 million doses of influenza vaccines in China, and the pentavalent vaccine has built a solid health barrier for nearly 18 million Chinese children. Additionally, leveraging the construction of the Greater Bay Area International Vaccine Innovation Center, Sanofi continues to promote international collaboration, industry empowerment, and science popularization for public benefit, serving the public health ecosystem of the Greater Bay Area.
The continuous enhancement of public health value is inseparable from a resilient local supply chain foundation. The vaccine production base in Shenzhen Pingshan is China’s first and currently only wholly foreign-owned vaccine production base. Since 2007, Sanofi has invested a total of 1.2 billion RMB to advance the base’s construction, achieving localized production of influenza vaccines. In the future, Sanofi will rely on its continuously upgraded “Public Health Guardian Chain” to fulfill its long-term commitment to connecting with and serving China through the stable supply of high-quality preventive products.
