Abu Dhabi Opens Strategic Life Sciences Corridor to California Through Biocom Partnership
The two parties will engage in experience exchange on the development of life science industry ecosystems and industrial clusters, covering industry best practices, industrial policy insights, and lessons learned, thereby strengthening the innovation environment and accelerating the growth of high-value-added life science industries in both regions. This collaboration connects California’s globally leading life science industry community with Abu Dhabi’s Health, Endurance, Longevity, and Medicine (HELM) cluster, creating opportunities for companies to conduct innovative R&D, testing, validation, and scaling in both markets.
Through Biocom California, leading U.S. biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical technology companies will gain access to Abu Dhabi’s smart life science ecosystem and “living lab” model, where scientific discovery, validation, and real-world application can be integrated within a single environment.

Through our partnership with Biocom, we are building a direct bridge between Abu Dhabi’s smart life science ecosystem and one of the world’s leading life science innovation hubs. This creates new opportunities for innovators, researchers, and investors to access Abu Dhabi’s smart life science living labs, where scientific discoveries can be translated into real-world impact faster and at scale.”
Joe Panetta, President Emeritus of Biocom, said: “Biocom is honored to collaborate with DoH under this important Memorandum of Understanding. Abu Dhabi’s life science ecosystem is strategically focused and well-supported, fostering promising innovative life science therapies. Biocom actively expands its network, building partnerships with established and emerging life science ecosystems globally. Under this MoU, we look forward to joint collaborations at various events, providing opportunities for companies in California and Abu Dhabi to connect with partners and further integrate Abu Dhabi with our other partner networks.”
