Copenhagen, Denmark and SingaporeJune 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — ATLANT 3D, the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (A*STAR IMRE) under the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Singapore, and the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC, a national-level platform hosted by A*STAR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on establishing an Advanced Materials Development Hub (referred to as “A-HUB”) in Singapore.

ATLANT 3D, A*STAR IMRE, and NAMIC sign MoU to advance AI-driven materials discovery in Singapore.
This collaboration aims to combine ATLANT 3D’s proprietary Direct Atomic Layer Processing (DALP®) technology with A*STAR IMRE’s expertise in materials engineering and NAMIC’s capabilities in additive manufacturing and ecosystem development. The three parties will explore the application of AI-driven materials discovery in advanced packaging, silicon photonics, and semiconductor manufacturing.
The Singapore A-HUB is designed to support high-throughput materials synthesis, autonomous materials exploration, and accelerated technology development, collaborating with industry partners on novel innovation projects, and strengthening Singapore’s autonomous advanced manufacturing infrastructure and materials innovation ecosystem.
“Singapore is at the forefront globally in applying advanced materials and next-generation manufacturing technologies at an industrial scale,” said Dr. Maksym Plakhotnyuk, Founder and CEO of ATLANT 3D. “By combining ATLANT 3D’s DALP® technology with A*STAR IMRE’s world-class materials expertise and NAMIC’s innovation ecosystem, we will create the world’s first high-throughput materials innovation foundry for advanced applications in semiconductors, silicon photonics, and advanced packaging technologies.”
Professor Loh Xian Jun, Executive Research Director of A*STAR IMRE, stated: “Through this collaboration with ATLANT 3D, we are introducing cutting-edge atomic layer processing capabilities into our materials R&D workflow, thereby accelerating the discovery and optimization of functional thin-film materials. Combining ATLANT 3D’s expertise in advanced deposition technologies with A*STAR IMRE’s deep materials science capabilities and world-class characterization infrastructure will further enhance our ability to translate research outcomes into tangible results for Singapore’s advanced manufacturing sector.”
Dr. Ho Chaw Sing, CEO of NAMIC and Executive Director of A*STAR’s Science and Engineering Research Council, said: “Humanity’s next frontier will require digital closed-loop additive processes to achieve materials breakthroughs with exceptional performance. The vision of A-HUB is to become a shared platform that brings together research, industry, and ecosystem partners more closely, accelerating the journey of super materials from the lab to the factory floor, thereby solidifying Singapore’s position as a global hub for next-generation materials and advanced manufacturing.”
