Flanders DNA Woven into the Brand’s Identity

VAN RYSEL means “from Lille” in Flemish. Founded in 2019, the brand is headquartered in Lille, France, just a few kilometers from the iconic cobblestone sections of Flanders—the venue for the world’s most legendary one-day professional cycling race, Paris-Roubaix. VAN RYSEL is data-driven, designing high-performance products for every cyclist and triathlete looking to improve their performance. Its product range covers all core needs, from bikes to accessories, apparel, and smart trainers, offering cycling enthusiasts a unique “one-stop” shopping destination.

At the professional racing level, Decathlon CMA CGM is a top-tier professional road cycling team based in France, co-sponsored by Decathlon and the international shipping giant CMA CGM Group. The team, formerly known as AG2R La Mondiale, was established in 1992 and has over 30 years of history in the UCI World Tour. Since 2024, Decathlon has fully led the team’s operations, and in 2026, CMA CGM Group was officially introduced as a co-title sponsor, ushering in a new era for the “Decathlon CMA CGM” team. To date, the team has achieved over 15 victories, with rising star Paul Seixas securing six wins, including the overall title at the Tour of the Basque Country. VAN RYSEL provides the team with professional cycling equipment, including bikes, helmets, eyewear, and apparel. The team will continue its race schedule and plans to return to China this year for the Tour of Guangxi World Tour event, engaging with Chinese cycling enthusiasts.

Additionally, since 2023, VAN RYSEL has been the title sponsor of the VAN RYSEL ROUBAIX team, dedicated to preserving local cycling culture.

User-Centric R&D, Lowering the Barrier to Entry

VAN RYSEL consistently adheres to a user-centric R&D principle, with all innovations and technologies aimed at meeting the real needs of athletes at different skill levels. The brand emphasizes “Extreme Performance × High Value for Money,” leveraging Decathlon’s full-industry-chain operating model to provide professional, safe, and affordable products. Currently, the brand offers a full range of equipment, from bikes to apparel, body gear, and electronic products, covering all consumer needs from professional competition to entry-level users. Supported by athletes, technical partners, and the services of sports ambassadors at its global network of directly operated physical stores, the brand continuously lowers the barrier to entry, providing more cycling opportunities for the public.

Deepening Roots in the Chinese Market, Building a Cycling Community Ecosystem

In China, the brand not only focuses on full-product-line services but also places great importance on community building, using diverse community activities to energize the market and benefit consumers. In March 2025, VAN RYSEL’s first store in Asia grandly opened at Hangzhou Binjiang Baolong City Plaza, covering a total area of 335 square meters. The store features five functional zones, including a reception area, central service area, community area, and experience area, offering one-stop services such as bike fitting, maintenance and repair, and virtual cycling experiences, truly becoming a gathering place for cycling enthusiasts. In October of the same year, VAN RYSEL, together with the Decathlon CMA CGM team, held a media and fan meetup in Beijing, along with the “Ride with Pro” mass cycling challenge event, where professional cyclists and Chinese riders competed side by side, deeply integrating top international racing culture with mass cycling. VAN RYSEL founder and global CEO Nicolas Pierron stated, “We hope that through our products, community activities, and cycling training, every cycling enthusiast can become a better version of themselves.”

Looking ahead, VAN RYSEL will continue to deepen its presence in the Chinese market, accompanying every Chinese cycling enthusiast on their journey to surpass themselves on the road, with high-performance products rooted in Flanders and an open, inclusive community culture.
