DXC Simplifies and Strengthens If’s Technology Architecture in the Nordics with DXC OASIS

As insurers integrate acquired businesses and scale operations across markets, technology environments become increasingly fragmented and complex, resulting in system overlap, operational silos, and heightened infrastructure complexity. This makes it difficult to achieve robust, efficient, and consistent operations at scale. Ultimately, it can lead to rising costs, slower integration timelines, and reduced visibility into critical systems, impacting operational agility and customer experience. To bridge this gap, a technology partner is needed with the capability to operate mission-critical systems at scale while consolidating and streamlining the technology architecture underpinning daily operations.

Building a More Unified and Resilient Technology Foundation
To advance its modernization agenda, If has chosen DXC to operate its mission-critical technology architecture, with DXC OASIS providing an intelligent orchestration layer across its multi-country operations in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and the Baltic states. This multi-year agreement will enable DXC to modernize and manage thousands of computing resources for the company, spanning mainframes, data centers, and Microsoft Azure hybrid cloud environments, forming the technology backbone for If’s daily insurance operations while enhancing governance, security, and visibility.

Hanna Elomaa, Head of IT Operations at If Skadeförsäkring AB, said: “In line with our company strategy, we are building a stronger, more secure, and more scalable technology foundation across the Nordics and Baltics. Our partnership with DXC Technology allows us to streamline and upgrade our infrastructure, consolidate our IT environment, and leverage automation and AI to enhance business quality and efficiency. Together, we are creating a more resilient, future-ready platform that empowers us to continue delivering stable, secure services and exceptional experiences to our business and customers.”

The agreement will also support If’s integration of Topdanmark by streamlining and unifying the technology operations of the combined organization, reducing operational complexity, and improving the resilience, efficiency, and performance of its infrastructure environment. DXC will also consolidate fragmented mainframe and private cloud environments into its data center in Denmark, establishing hybrid cloud orchestration with Microsoft Azure.

Integrating DXC OASIS

DXC OASIS will provide If with a unified orchestration layer designed to enhance visibility, coordination, and governance across its technology architecture. By consolidating infrastructure operations across multiple vendors and environments, DXC OASIS will help streamline operations, automate workflows, and improve overall system reliability across the organization. The platform’s agentic AI capabilities will introduce new operational models for If’s IT operations, enabling proactive monitoring and operational optimization, helping reduce manual workload for IT teams while enhancing the performance and resilience of critical systems and improving overall customer experience.

Peter Skarendal, Managing Director of DXC Sweden, said: “If is integrating operations across multiple markets and environments, requiring a resilient, unified technology foundation built for scale. With DXC OASIS, we are helping If streamline and orchestrate its mainframe, data center, and cloud environments across multiple vendors into an integrated operation, enhancing visibility, reducing operational complexity, and strengthening system performance across the organization. This creates a more agile and resilient foundation, enabling If’s teams to focus on delivering seamless experiences for customers, while DXC provides the technology backbone for the integration behind the scenes.”
