BeijingJune 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — On June 15, during Novo Nordisk Global CEO Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen’s visit to China, the company announced the official launch of the diabetes public version of its digital patient service platform, “NovoCare,” making it accessible to the entire society. This marks the platform’s transition from “patient-exclusive” to “available for all,” further expanding its service scope from disease treatment to universal health prevention, helping to build a chronic disease prevention and control system covering the full cycle of “prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment, and long-term management.”

Data shows that there are approximately 148 million adults with diabetes in China, meaning one in every eight adults has diabetes, and two in every five adults are in a pre-diabetic state[1]. However, the awareness rate of diabetes in China is only 36.7%[2], with gaps remaining in disease awareness, early diagnosis rates, and standardized management rates.
In response to the public’s strong demand and proactive search for scientific, accurate health knowledge and disease management information, Novo Nordisk has launched the “NovoCare” diabetes public version mini-program and app. Integrating multiple functions such as community interaction and health education, it comprehensively covers the full management needs of diabetes patients, creating a one-stop health knowledge service platform that combines professionalism with human warmth.
“NovoCare” uses engaging and interesting content to help the public avoid health cognitive pitfalls, acquire accurate knowledge, build circles for sharing emotions and experiences to combat the loneliness of managing chronic diseases alone, and transform professional knowledge into practical guides that ordinary people can understand and use. From awareness and companionship to practical application, it aligns with the public’s usage habits throughout, making health management simple, thoughtful, and accessible.

The launch of the public version of “NovoCare” is a key initiative by Novo Nordisk to build a new ecosystem for chronic disease management, driven by digitalization. Through this, Novo Nordisk extends health management services to the entire chain of disease prevention, education, and daily health management, breaking the traditional mindset of “only caring when sick” and bringing chronic disease prevention into daily life. Previously, the weight management exclusive version of “NovoCare” was also launched. Novo Nordisk has also partnered with online health platforms, retail terminals, and industry partners to promote the integration and sharing of high-quality health resources, providing patients with better and more efficient health management services through digital means.
Dr. Cai Yan, Senior Vice President of Novo Nordisk Global and President of Novo Nordisk Greater China, stated: “Chronic disease prevention and control is no longer a matter for a single company or industry, but a systematic project that requires the entire society to support the public and patients. With over 30 years of deep roots in China, Novo Nordisk adheres to a user-centered philosophy and is committed to being an ‘enabler of full-cycle health management’ for the public and patients. We proactively reach patients, comprehensively respond to the health needs of the entire population, and ensure that our century-long accumulated chronic disease management capabilities truly serve everyone in need.”
