Over the past year, Shanghai’s event economy has flourished, with international and domestic events generating a stimulus effect of 35.8 billion yuan[1]. The proportion of residents regularly engaging in physical exercise has exceeded 50%[2], making fitness an integral part of urban life. Plans to build Shanghai into a globally renowned sports city are also accelerating. This year’s Standard Chartered Shanghai 10K Run attracted mass runners, professional athletes, individuals with disabilities and charitable organizations, as well as over 100 financial institutions. At the finish line, some set personal bests, children overtook their parents to finish first, and visually impaired runners completed the race with the support of volunteers—regardless of age or speed, every participant showcased their personal style in their own way.

Whether you run alongside like-minded partners, bring your children to feel the joy of running, or challenge your personal best, you can enjoy a wonderful and pure runner’s moment here. This is the charm of Shanghai, and the charm of running. We look forward to welcoming 4,500 runners on Shanghai’s most beautiful riverside track with our partners, jointly turning Shanghai into the most sports-savvy international financial center.”

This year’s event continues to offer a “direct entry” pathway for top finishers. The top three male and female individual runners will receive direct entry slots for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon and the Kuala Lumpur Marathon. On-site lucky draws will also provide direct entry slots for the Standard Chartered runs in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore, giving more runners the opportunity to start from Shanghai and race on multiple Asian international city tracks.

Beyond the track, the excitement is far from over: Standard Chartered, in collaboration with the Fosun Foundation and the “Star Tai Chi” team, combined body stretching with Tai Chi internal exercises to help runners relax and relieve fatigue. Humanoid robots made a surprise appearance, warming up with runners, taking interactive photos, and performing Tai Chi demonstrations, adding a technological twist to the event. A “Financial Consumer Rights Protection” themed booth delivered knowledge through fun interactions. Institutions such as Descente, Wall Street CN, Caixin, Keep, SkinCeuticals, Qingtian Rent, Watsons, Mizone, and CITIC-Prudential Life Insurance provided support ranging from gear and supplies to experiences. Runners could check in at multiple interactive zones, unlock various perks, and immerse themselves in the joyful atmosphere of running.
