Paul Mashatile, Vice President of the Republic of South Africa, delivered a speech; Sefi, CEO of the Sustainable Markets Initiative Global Council, read a congratulatory message from King Charles III of the United Kingdom to the fourth Chain Expo; John Denton, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce, and Xi Guohua, Chairman of CITIC Group, also delivered speeches. Approximately 1,300 representatives from political, business, and academic circles across over 100 countries, regions, and international organizations attended the opening ceremony.
Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), presided over the opening ceremony. He stated that in the first year of the “15th Five-Year Plan,” the fourth Chain Expo will focus on promoting high-quality development, expanding high-standard opening-up, and making greater efforts to advance international cooperation in industrial and supply chains, helping Chinese and foreign enterprises share opportunities and achieve common development. CCPIT will firmly grasp the fundamental goal of serving Chinese and foreign enterprises, build a high-quality platform, provide comprehensive services, foster closer partnerships in industrial and supply chains, and make new contributions to building an open world economy and a community with a shared future for mankind.
At the opening ceremony, CCPIT, together with business representatives from various countries, jointly released the “Beijing Initiative of the Fourth China International Supply Chain Expo.”
The fourth Chain Expo, hosted by CCPIT, is themed “Connecting the World for a Shared Future.” Five international organizations—the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, the World Intellectual Property Organization, the International Trade Centre, and the International Chamber of Commerce—serve as supporting units. Australia is the guest country of honor; France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and Italy’s Liguria region are the newly established foreign guest provinces of honor, while Anhui and Hainan are the domestic guest provinces of honor. The expo features six major chains—Digital Technology Chain, Advanced Manufacturing Chain, Green Agriculture Chain, Healthy Life Chain, Smart Vehicle Chain, and Clean Energy Chain—along with a supply chain services exhibition area. A total of 676 leading enterprises, specialized and innovative companies, and industry organizations from 85 countries, regions, and international organizations are participating.
