This funding round is led by Lightspeed, with participation from WndrCo, Amplify Partners, and others. Reactor is dedicated to providing the underlying infrastructure for real-time generative video.
SAN FRANCISCOMay 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Reactor, a developer platform for real-time generative video, today officially emerged from stealth with $59 million in funding. The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from WndrCo, Amplify Partners, Sky9 Capital, FPV Ventures, and other investors.
Reactor is building the underlying infrastructure that enables developers to access real-time world models, empowering the next generation of interactive AI applications in media and entertainment, physical AI, and robotics.
World models represent a fundamental shift in AI—from tools that passively respond to instructions to experiences that users can immerse themselves in and interact with in real time. This shift gives rise to a new form of media: experiences that are no longer pre-rendered, but dynamically generated and shaped by user interaction.
Despite rapid progress at top labs, there is currently no platform to run these models in production or allow developers to build applications at a global scale. Reactor is filling this need.
The Reactor platform offers a unified SDK and API, allowing developers to build real-time interactive applications with just a few lines of code, without having to manage the complexity of deploying and running these systems at scale.
“World models are redefining the boundaries of AI’s capabilities, shifting from systems that generate content in isolation to those that perceive and respond in real time,” said Alberto Taiuti, co-founder and CEO of Reactor. “We are building the critical layer between model labs and application developers. This will unlock a new medium—making previously impossible experiences real-time and generative, and allowing anyone to build and distribute them.”
Reactor was co-founded by Alberto Taiuti (CEO) and Bryce Schmidtchen (CTO), both former technical leads at Apple Vision Pro. Taiuti previously co-founded Luma AI and served as its CTO, leading the infrastructure for one of the world’s most widely used platforms for 3D and video generation.
The broader team includes engineers and researchers from Apple, Netflix, Meta, Google, Adobe, Replicate, and Microsoft, with deep expertise in graphics, real-time systems, interactive media, and AI infrastructure scaling.
“Developers can’t yet use real-time video models because there’s no stable infrastructure to support them,” said Bucky Moore, partner at Lightspeed. “Faced with this challenge, Alberto, Bryce, and their team bring a rare combination of real-time systems expertise and product vision. We believe Reactor has the potential to become the foundational platform for this new category.”
Reactor is already working with partners in media, entertainment, and physical AI, and has received strong demand from film studios and robotics companies.
“Every major shift in media has been driven by new tools that expand what creators can do,” said Jeffrey Katzenberg, founding partner at WndrCo, who will join Reactor as a board observer. “AI represents a transformative moment, but the real opportunity lies in bringing these technologies to scale. Reactor is building the platform that will empower a new generation of storytelling and interactive experiences.”
Leading world model developers have already begun using Reactor as the underlying infrastructure for building real-time systems. Overworld is leveraging the platform to support the development of its interactive world model, demonstrating how these systems evolve from research into fully usable, interactive experiences.
“Building a world model is only one challenge; ensuring it is practical and responsive in real time is equally critical,” said Louis Castricato, CEO of Overworld. “Reactor provides the infrastructure support to help us bring these systems to developers and users. We are committed to creating a truly immersive new medium for interactive entertainment.”
Reactor’s strategic partners include Amazon Web Services (AWS), which will serve as the company’s preferred cloud provider, offering the computing infrastructure and distribution support needed for real-time generative video workloads at a global scale.
“Reactor’s real-time video platform requires not just generation speed, but inference infrastructure that matches interaction speed,” said Jason Bennett, vice president and global head of startups and venture capital at AWS. “AWS is uniquely positioned to meet the latency, scale, and reliability demands of these workloads. Profitable AI starts with lower-cost inference. From specialized chips to flexible AI services, AWS is well-suited to help platforms like Reactor bring real-time generative video to developers worldwide at a cost-effective scale.”
The platform is now available via SDK and API. Pricing is usage-based, charged by model type. Developers can sign up at reactor.inc.
