BeijingJune 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — At the recently concluded 31st Annual Meeting of the Chinese Society of Dermatology (CSD2026), CeraVe, centered on skin barrier science, unveiled its latest research findings covering multiple fields including atopic dermatitis (AD) and acne. Through a satellite symposium, eight academic posters, and an immersive interactive booth, CeraVe further solidified the important role of barrier repair strategies, with triple ceramides as a key target, in the comprehensive management of AD.

Satellite Symposium Major Announcement: Professor Li Ming First Discloses Pediatric AD Study, Adding New Evidence to the Ceramide Full-Age Evidence Chain
During the conference, CeraVe hosted a dedicated satellite symposium, inviting Professor Li Ming from the Children’s Hospital of Fudan University as the keynote speaker. Under the theme “Integrated Treatment and Care: Discussing the Comprehensive Management of Pediatric AD from Barrier Repair,” Professor Li Ming publicly presented for the first time the results of a clinical study on a ceramide-containing moisturizer as an adjunctive treatment for pediatric AD.
This study was a multicenter, randomized controlled trial involving 76 children with mild-to-moderate AD. The results showed that, based on conventional topical medication, applying a moisturizer containing triple ceramides twice daily for four weeks led to a significantly faster decline in SCORAD scores compared to the medication-only group. Skin barrier function (transepidermal water loss) and skin hydration were also significantly improved, with particularly notable improvements in pruritus/pain scores (p<0.001 on Day 28). No serious adverse reactions were reported during the study, and over 92% of parents expressed willingness to continue using the product.
Professor Li Ming noted: “Impaired skin barrier function is a core factor in the pathogenesis of AD. A moisturizer containing ceramides is not just basic hydration; it is a core strategy for actively repairing the barrier, synergizing with medication efficacy, and prolonging the remission period. ‘Integrated treatment and care’ should be implemented throughout the acute, consolidation, and maintenance phases of pediatric AD.”
This pediatric AD study, together with previously shared adult AD data, forms a closed-loop clinical evidence chain across age groups, confirming the key role of a moisturizer containing triple ceramides as an adjunctive treatment for AD across all ages.

Eight Posters Showcase Academic Strength: Core Study Confirms “Moisturizers Should Be a Core Component of AD Basic Treatment”
At this year’s CSD, CeraVe had eight academic posters published, fully demonstrating the brand’s deep expertise in skin barrier science. One core poster, titled “Efficacy Evaluation of a Moisturizer Containing Triple Ceramides as Adjunctive Treatment for Mild Atopic Dermatitis,” showed that combining a moisturizer with triple ceramides with crisaborole for four weeks in adult patients with mild AD resulted in a 60.4% reduction in SCORAD scores, a total effective rate of 82.1%, a 92.5% improvement in quality of life, and significantly better skin barrier function compared to the control group (p<0.001). The conclusion indicates that standardized, adequate use of functional moisturizers should be a core component of basic AD treatment. The remaining posters covered areas including AD combination therapy, acne barrier repair, senile pruritus, and skin rejuvenation.

Booth Interaction: ‘Four Frames of Life’ Captures Doctors’ Finest Moments, AD and Acne Mini-Lessons Showcase Product Strength
Beyond academic exchanges, the CeraVe booth became a major attraction at the conference. The brand specially set up a “Four Frames of Life” photo zone to capture the most beautiful moments of dermatologists safeguarding patient health. Additionally, the booth hosted continuous “AD and Acne Mini-Lessons” educational activities, focusing on barrier repair needs in the two high-incidence issues of AD and acne, vividly demonstrating how CeraVe’s star product lines achieve the dual effects of “repair + maintenance,” earning high praise from attending physicians.

CeraVe has always been committed to barrier science research centered on ceramides. In the future, CeraVe will continue to collaborate with Chinese dermatologists to provide more scientific and reassuring barrier protection solutions for patients of all ages.
