LONDONJune 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS), a global provider of hyperscale and large enterprise data center solutions (supporting AI applications), today announced the release of its fourth annual sustainability report.
Colt DCS Reports 27% Reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions
The report outlines the company’s sustainability performance for 2025 and covers data on material environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics, which were identified and prioritized based on a double materiality assessment conducted in 2024.
Data shows that Colt DCS has reduced its Scope 1, Scope 2 (market-based), and Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 27% compared to the 2019 baseline year.
Last year, the data center service provider also achieved 100% renewable electricity for Scope 2 through renewable energy certificates, with renewable energy accounting for 90% of total energy consumption (covering Scopes 1, 2, and 3).
This emissions reduction reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to decarbonizing its data centers across design, development, and operations.
Building on this, Colt DCS further refined its “Global Reference Design” (GRD) in 2025, creating a replicable and standardized blueprint that flexibly adapts to local requirements while ensuring consistency in core principles for future projects. The GRD integrates energy-efficient systems, low embodied carbon materials, and near-zero wastewater cooling technology into the architecture of all new data centers, while targeting an annual PUE below 1.2, a 75% construction and demolition waste diversion rate, and a 90% operational waste diversion rate.
In water management, the GRD employs chilled water systems using low GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants with near-zero water consumption, supplemented by rainwater harvesting systems for indoor non-potable water needs. Closed-loop liquid cooling systems circulate coolant in sealed circuits, enabling heat transfer without reliance on evaporation.
Other key highlights from the 2025 Sustainability Report include:
- Achieved “Great Place To Work” certification, with 92% of employees recommending Colt DCS as a top employer (up from 87% in 2024).
- Won the “Best Talent Development Company” award at the Data Centre World Awards.
- Three sites—London North, Tokyo Inzai 1-3, and Osaka Keihanna—received TRUE Zero Waste certification.
- Global PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) reached 1.41.
- Achieved ISO 27001 information security management certification globally, and ISO 14001 environmental management certification in the UK and Europe.
