BeijingMay 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — On May 21, the “Encountering Light” series art exhibition • Mobile Art Gallery event, supported by the MGM Resorts “Heartstrings” public welfare project, and the third “Family Charity Day” activity under the Heartstrings initiative, were warmly launched at the MGM M-Hotel in Nanjing. The hotel transformed into a gallery of love, with 30 guests including representatives from MGM Resorts, the “Lighting Up the Stars” public welfare project, native artists, contemporary painters, disabled persons’ federation representatives, and employee volunteers, gathering for this warm artistic rendezvous.

Founder of the Lighting Up the Stars Initiative: Let Everyone Be a Ray of Light
Ms. Zhang Weiting, founder of the Lighting Up the Stars initiative, shared the public welfare philosophy of the project and the heartwarming achievements made in caring for the autistic community during the event. She also highlighted the planning and implementation directions of two key charitable programs: the “Encountering Light Mobile Art Gallery” and the “Star Kids Friendly Map.”

“We call on more people to see the unique light within the autistic community, and we hope that through diverse charitable collaborations, we can inspire more individuals to truly participate in public welfare—both to encounter these shining ‘star children’ and to let each person become a ray of light, illuminating the world with kindness and warming each other’s hearts,” said Ms. Zhang Weiting.
Painting Starlight Together: Let Art Flourish, Let Love Not Be Alone
This Family Charity Day event was themed “Encountering Light: Symbiosis and Integration.” At the event, volunteers and guests drew inspiration from the watercolor painting “Splendor of Love” by autistic artist Wu Kejun, collectively painting starlight on a canvas, blending different perspectives and colors into a harmonious whole. Illustrator Ms. Gui Ziyu also led volunteers in a collaborative paper-cutting art creation.

All collaborative works created on-site will be exhibited alongside the original paintings, serving as the most vivid testament to “symbiosis”—they come from different hands yet together paint a shared brilliance.
The “encounter” pursued by “Encountering Light” is an artistic symbiosis that transcends differences. Native artists and contemporary painters engage in a dialogue through their brushes, illuminating each other’s unique creativity. Art allows the autistic community to express their inner worlds, and it enables more people to approach and understand them through color. This is a two-way journey of connection—art returns to its essence of “self-expression and connecting with others,” and light naturally grows in such encounters.
16 Fusion Paintings on Display, Letting More Stars Be Seen
The “Encountering Light” series art exhibition will be held at the MGM M-Hotel in Nanjing from May 21 to June 20, featuring 16 paintings. Each work is created side by side by native artists and contemporary painters, with different styles of expression ultimately forming a complete scroll of starlight. Every stroke of color in the works carries the unique inner world of the original artists, as well as an undefined passion and vitality.

During the exhibition, the public can visit the hotel for free viewing, and those who participate in on-site check-ins and collaborative painting activities will receive exquisite charity souvenirs. Your single stop is an act of “seeing.” Let more native artists be seen and appreciated in public spaces, let kindness continue to spread, and let rays of light gather into a warm force that illuminates the starry sky.
