TianjinJune 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Recently, Genesis MedTech Group announced that its independently developed “Ruiyan™ Scissor-Type Integrated Ultrasonic Scalpel (hereinafter referred to as: Ruiyan Integrated Ultrasonic Scalpel)” has obtained EU CE certification. This product features an integrated design combining the transducer and ultrasonic scalpel head, making it the world’s first integrated scissor-type ultrasonic scalpel. The product was already approved for market release in China by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in 2025.

The operation method of the scissor-type ultrasonic scalpel is similar to surgical scissors commonly used in surgeries, making it favored by surgeons in superficial open surgeries such as thyroid and breast procedures. Taking thyroid surgery as an example, the scissor-type ultrasonic scalpel head not only enables precise dissection and lymph node dissection but also efficiently handles the isthmus, safely sealing blood vessels while reducing thermal damage to important tissues and organs such as the superior laryngeal nerve and recurrent laryngeal nerve.
According to public data[1], the estimated number of new thyroid cancer cases in China in 2024 was 573,800, ranking second in incidence among all malignant tumors, following lung cancer. Among these, approximately 154,300 cases occurred in men and 419,500 in women. Currently, open surgery remains the primary treatment method for thyroid surgery.
Facing the high incidence of thyroid cancer, the continuous growth in surgical volume demands higher clinical efficiency and safety. Based on the traditional scissor-type head, the Ruiyan Integrated Ultrasonic Scalpel adopts an integrated handle design, innovatively merging the transducer with the ultrasonic scalpel head. This design eliminates the need for steps such as installing and connecting the transducer before surgery, reducing preparation time for each procedure. More importantly, the integrated design optimizes the energy conduction path, eliminating energy loss caused by repeated sterilization of separate transducers, ensuring stable and efficient energy delivery to the blade tip during surgery, thereby effectively improving cutting and sealing efficiency. Additionally, the Ruiyan Integrated Ultrasonic Scalpel is lighter in overall weight, shorter in instrument length, and its center of gravity is closer to the surgeon’s palm, allowing for more flexible operation and a more comfortable, effortless feel, helping surgeons reduce fatigue during multiple consecutive surgeries.
In the past two years, Genesis MedTech has been steadily advancing the development of new surgical products. In the energy product series, it has successively launched innovative products such as the “OP9 Ultrasonic and High-Frequency Electrosurgical Integrated Platform,” a multi-interface device that supports independent output of ultrasonic energy and high-frequency electrical energy, and the “Tiger 7 Ultrasonic Scalpel,” the first domestically produced ultrasonic scalpel with advanced hemostatic buttons capable of sealing 7mm blood vessels.
