Renowned for educating multiple generations of the British royal family, including King Charles III and the late Prince Philip, Gordonstoun is bringing its world-leading educational philosophy overseas. Ahead of the opening of a permanent boarding campus in Wakayama, scheduled for summer 2027, the school will first launch an immersive summer program focused on real-world leadership.
A New Chapter in Global Education
Founded in 1934, Gordonstoun’s iconic motto “Plus est en vous” (“There is more in you”) will be put into practice on the international stage. The “Impact Challenge Summer Programme” breaks away from traditional classroom learning, guiding students to confront humanitarian and environmental challenges, fostering resilience and a sense of service.

——Global Challenge Engagement: Developing sustainable economic resilience strategies for Himalayan communities
——Environmental Action: Addressing marine plastic pollution around Tomogashima Island
——Field Implementation: Outstanding teams will travel to Nepal to witness the implementation of their solutions
This program is designed by international humanitarian Linda Cruse, whose leadership philosophy from the “Race4Good (R)” project has profoundly influenced global education and corporate philanthropy. As the new Director of Extracurricular Activities at Gordonstoun Japan, she will bring this educational vision to life in Wakayama this summer.
