ShanghaiMay 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Recently, MPS (Monolithic Power Systems, NASDAQ: MPWR) launched the industry’s first 20A/25A/30A high-current synchronous step-down DC/DC product series supporting a 24V operating voltage — the MP2421/22/23/21B/22B. This series features differential remote sensing, integrating high input voltage, large output current, high efficiency, and fast dynamic response. It offers pin-compatible analog versions and digital versions supporting I²C/PMBus interfaces, flexibly meeting the needs of different system architectures and application scenarios.
With the continuous upgrade of consumer electronics, industrial equipment, and communication networks, the power supply demands for system-on-chips (SoCs) are rapidly increasing. Particularly in the high-end display equipment sector, technologies such as 4K/8K ultra-high-definition resolution, 144Hz high refresh rates, and high-brightness displays are becoming more prevalent, significantly raising instantaneous system power consumption and imposing higher requirements on power systems. The market demand for 20A to 30A high-current, high-efficiency, and high-transient-response power supply solutions is growing. To address this, MPS has introduced the MP2421/22/23/21B/22B series, providing higher-performance power support for next-generation high-performance electronic devices.
Industry’s First High-Current Chip with 24V Operating Voltage
The MP2421/22/23/21B/22B series supports a wide input voltage range of 3.6V-24V and is the world’s first 20A to 30A high-current synchronous step-down chip capable of supporting a 24V operating voltage. With the rapid adoption of the Type-C power delivery architecture, an increasing number of device bus voltages are rising above 15V-20V, and traditional solutions face limitations in input range. The MP2421/22/23/21B/22B series can directly adapt to higher bus voltage systems, offering greater compatibility and design flexibility for display devices, network terminals, and industrial platforms.

MP2423 Typical Application Schematic
Efficiency Up to 96% with Excellent Thermal Performance
Faced with increasingly compact structural designs of high-power devices, heat dissipation capability has become a key system challenge. The MP2421/22/23/21B/22B series achieves a maximum conversion efficiency of up to 96%, significantly reducing power loss. Under a 20A load condition, the chip temperature rise is only 33°C, effectively alleviating thermal management pressure in high-density designs. For ultra-thin TVs, high-end monitors, and compact communication devices, this helps customers improve overall system reliability and optimize internal space layout.

MP2421/22/23/21B/22B Series Efficiency vs. Load Curve and Temperature Rise Curve
Differential Remote Sensing, Ensuring Precise SoC Power Supply
In large-scale SoC or CPU designs, there is often a distance between the power chip and the processor’s power supply pins, and PCB trace voltage drops can affect load-side voltage accuracy. The MP2421/22/23/21B/22B series integrates a differential remote sensing function, using the FB and RGND pins for differential voltage sensing. It dynamically adjusts the chip’s output voltage based on PCB transmission line losses, ensuring the SoC’s supply voltage accuracy.
Fast Transient Response, Handling Dynamic Load Impacts
In applications such as AI devices, communication networks, and smart TVs, load current fluctuations are very large, imposing higher requirements on dynamic ripple. The MP2421/22/23/21B/22B series features extremely fast transient response capability. When the load current suddenly increases or decreases, it can continuously and stably power the SoC, ensuring high-speed system operation and image processing performance.
