The 2026 China International Bakery Exhibition Concludes Successfully, Boosting Global Integration and Innovative Development of the Bakery Industry

ShanghaiJune 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The 28th China International Bakery Exhibition (Bakery China 2026) concluded successfully on May 23 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in Hongqiao, further solidifying its position as a professional exhibition for the global bakery and confectionery industry.


Co-hosted by the China Association of Bakery and Confectionery Industry (CABCI) and Beijing Bakery Exhibition Service Co., Ltd., the four-day event was themed “Innovation Without Boundaries · First Launch Convergence · Linking the Future.” The total exhibition area exceeded 330,000 square meters, bringing together 2,267 brands and enterprises from 79 countries and regions, showcasing over 10,000 products, and attracting nearly 400,000 professional visitors from 144 countries and regions.

Zhang Jiukui, Chairman of the China Association of Bakery and Confectionery Industry, stated: “The China International Bakery Exhibition will continue to support the high-quality development of the industry, building a professional platform for business matching, trend forecasting, resource integration, skill enhancement, brand exposure, and global exchange.”

Expanding Global Industry Collaboration

The internationalization of Bakery China 2026 was further enhanced, with overseas exhibitor brands and enterprises accounting for over 20%, covering countries such as Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, the United States, and South Korea.

A dedicated “Belt and Road” bakery zone was established, showcasing specialty ingredients and techniques from countries along the route. Cross-cultural fusion products, such as “Western pastries with Chinese flavors” and “Chinese pastries made Western-style,” became highlights. The number of overseas buyers increased by over 60%, reflecting the growing global appeal of China’s bakery industry.

Empowering Chinese Brands to Go Global

For the first time, the exhibition hosted a Bakery Enterprise Going Global Forum, focusing on topics such as overseas compliance certification, halal certification, localization of overseas supply chains, overseas channel development, and cross-cultural brand communication, providing practical insights for domestic bakery enterprises expanding abroad.

Showcasing Industry Innovation Achievements

The exhibition featured thousands of new products and cutting-edge technologies. The “Bakery China Innovation Product Awards” recognized 136 award-winning products from 122 enterprises, covering all categories including raw materials, equipment, and packaging. The “China Bakery New Product Launch Week” further cemented the exhibition’s role as a benchmark for industry innovation trends.

Focus on Chocolate and Smart Manufacturing

Alongside the main exhibition, the 2026 China Chocolate Industry Exhibition debuted, covering an area of 30,000 square meters and gathering over 150 enterprises from the global cocoa and chocolate supply chain. Smart manufacturing, healthy eating, and clean labeling emerged as mainstream trends. Fully automated AI bakery production lines and AI visual quality inspection systems were showcased, highlighting the industry’s shift toward automation, traceability, and high efficiency.

From August 27 to 29, 2026, the organizers of Bakery China will host the inaugural ASEAN International Bakery Exhibition (Bakery ASEAN) in Jakarta, Indonesia. Additionally, the 11th China International Autumn Bakery Exhibition and the 9th China Home Baking Exhibition will be held from October 22 to 24 at the Wuhan International Expo Center.
