Shanghai and Laguna Hills April 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Recently, Tech-Bio company Aureka Biotechnologies, focused on agent-driven antibody drug development, announced the completion of a $35 million Series A+ financing round. This round was led by HongShan, with participation from Matrix Partners China and BioTrack Capital, and continued investment from existing shareholders 5Y Capital, Qiming Venture Partners, and New Alliance Capital. To date, Aureka Biotechnologies has secured nearly $100 million in total funding across its Series A and Series A+ rounds.
The funds will be primarily used to advance the construction of Aureka’s proprietary innovative functional antibody design platform, AuraIDE™, strengthen foundational model and agent capabilities, enhance high-throughput and high-content experimental platform facilities, further streamline the key stages from agent-driven project initiation, molecular design, and drug development to translational implementation, and accelerate the transition of diversified innovative drug pipelines into clinical stages.

Building Tech-Bio Infrastructure for Scalable Antibody Design
Centered on the core proposition of innovative functional antibody de novo design, Aureka Biotechnologies is building customized high-throughput, high-content experimental infrastructure for its generative antibody design system. This enhances the evolutionary efficiency of model and process iteration, enabling the scalable production of differentiated, high-value innovative functional antibodies.
By integrating high-throughput single-cell functional screening with synthetic biology evolution systems, Aureka continuously reshapes the acquisition of functional data, establishing a data foundation that combines high throughput with high information density. This supports continuous model learning and optimization, expanding the model’s generalization boundaries and targeted optimization capabilities across complex targets, mechanisms, and indications. With precise deployment in high-value, high-challenge areas including multispecific antibodies (AURA083), agonistic antibodies (AURA104, 105), high-efficiency internalizing antibodies (AURA136), pH-switch antibodies (AURA053), and epitope-specific targeting antibodies (AURA010, 012, 014), one drug candidate is nearing the clinical stage, two are in IND development, and the company has garnered sustained attention and collaborative progress from multiple top global pharmaceutical companies.
Advancing Commercial Collaborations and R&D Progress in Parallel
Aureka Biotechnologies continues to advance joint R&D projects with several multinational pharmaceutical companies, engaging in in-depth collaborations around complex targets and functional mechanisms. These efforts are gradually evolving from project-based partnerships to molecular-level value co-creation and transaction conversion.
Over the past two years, Aureka has achieved multi-million dollar commercial revenue, validating its R&D system’s advantages in complex molecular design and functional realization through consistent delivery. As multiple pipelines enter critical preclinical stages, Aureka is progressively establishing a pathway from molecular design and functional validation to external transactions, with its commercialization capabilities entering an accelerated release phase.
Dr. Wei’an Zhao, Founder and CEO of Aureka Biotechnologies, stated: “We are standing at the edge of a new era in the biopharmaceutical industry. We are in awe of the pace of model progress. Aureka’s latest agent platform, AuraIDE™, can already design antibody molecules with clinical-grade functional characteristics from scratch: precise targeting of complex epitopes, controllable activation/inhibition, multispecific synergy, pH-switch responses… Targets once considered ‘undruggable’ are being systematically conquered.
The next-generation Tech-Bio infrastructure is not just an enhancement but a necessary condition for rewriting industry rules. This financing will accelerate the construction of the world’s first agent-experiment collaborative base for scalable de novo antibody design, making First-in-class not a coincidence but a repeatable, scalable, and deliverable system capability.”
Yuye Wang, Vice President at Matrix Partners China, commented:
“Matrix Partners China is deeply rooted in the healthcare sector, focusing on science-driven innovative enterprises with core technological moats. We believe Aureka is not just a breakthrough in a single technology but a fundamental restructuring of antibody discovery logic. Its AuraIDE™ platform and high-throughput experimental facilities make the ‘agent-experiment’ collaboration a systematic infrastructure. This Tech-Bio integrated closed loop moves antibodies from ‘screening’ to ‘design,’ making undruggable targets programmable. We expect this capital injection to accelerate its full-chain pathway from molecular design to clinical translation.”
Ye Zhang, Project Lead at BioTrack Capital, commented:
“We fully recognize the innovative antibody R&D platform built by Aureka. Through an efficient and synergistic R&D system, the company continuously improves the efficiency of antibody drug discovery and development, reflecting the team’s comprehensive strength in technology, experimentation, and translational development. We are pleased to support the company’s growth alongside all shareholders and believe Aureka is poised to achieve sustained breakthroughs in the antibody drug field, meeting more clinical needs.”
Xutian Jing, Partner at 5Y Capital, commented:
“The company’s unique ultra-high-throughput wet lab platform, combined with world-leading model capabilities, brings the potential to unlock new pharmaceutical spaces for various types of antibody drugs. We believe this financing round will help Aureka unlock more antibody R&D potential and advance the development of more high-value drug assets.”
New Alliance Capital commented:
“Aureka Biotechnologies is leading a paradigm shift in macromolecular drug discovery. We firmly believe in Dr. Wei’an Zhao’s team and the systematic capability of its AuraIDE™ agent platform to conquer undruggable targets. This additional investment will consolidate its global leadership, accelerating the construction of the agent-experiment collaborative base and the development of First-in-class drug pipelines. We continue to hold a strong conviction and increase our investment, deeply empowering the global value realization of its proprietary technology.”
