Zero Carbon Journey, Linking the Globe —- CIBF2026 Salutes Earth Day

ShenzhenApril 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — April 22, 2026 marks the 57th World Earth Day, with the theme “Cherish Natural Resources, Protect Beautiful China.” This theme aligns deeply with China’s “dual carbon” goals. As a top priority, the zero-carbon industry aims to protect the nation’s precious natural resources by replacing clean energy, promoting resource recycling, and reducing energy consumption and environmental impact.

Since the beginning of this year, policies related to zero-carbon factory construction and battery recycling systems have been intensively released. For instance, on January 14, five departments jointly issued the “Guidance on Carrying Out Zero-Carbon Factory Construction Work,” specifying the cultivation of zero-carbon factories in key industries such as lithium batteries. Starting April 1, new regulations on power battery recycling officially took effect, marking the entry of China’s power battery recycling management system into the 2.0 era characterized by “full channels, full chains, and full life cycles.” It is evident that China’s path to zero-carbon transformation is embarking on a new round of action upgrades.

Globally, provisions such as the carbon footprint limits and digital battery passports under the EU’s New Battery Regulation, which are gradually coming into effect, directly link the operational carbon performance of battery companies to their market access qualifications. Major automakers like Volkswagen and BMW have set their own carbon neutrality targets and are passing carbon reduction requirements down to their battery suppliers.

Against this backdrop, the 18th Shenzhen International Battery Technology Exchange/Exhibition (CIBF2026) will open at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center from May 13 to 15. With the theme “Linking the Globe, Empowering Green, Driving the Future,” this edition of the exhibition will span over 280,000 square meters, featuring more than 3,100 domestic and international exhibitors. It will cover the entire industry chain, including power batteries, energy storage batteries, materials, equipment, and recycling, gathering industrial synergy for the global zero-carbon transformation.

As a global bellwether for the battery industry, CIBF2026 is not only a platform for policy implementation but also a core hub for technology display and global consensus building. Global top battery companies such as CATL, BYD, EVE Energy, Gotion High-tech, and Sunwoda have confirmed their participation in CIBF2026 and are expected to showcase their cutting-edge achievements in the zero-carbon industry.

Simultaneously, the exhibition will gather green achievements from across the entire battery industry chain. From low-carbon precursors and recycled materials on the material end, to green equipment and low-carbon processes in battery manufacturing, and further to efficient dismantling technologies on the recycling end, it will comprehensively present zero-carbon solutions, promoting domestic and international exchanges and experience sharing in zero-carbon technologies.

Undoubtedly, the robust zero-carbon support systems built by a large number of Chinese battery supply chain enterprises are becoming the cornerstone of this global competition focused on efficiency improvement, intelligent upgrading, and energy conservation and consumption reduction.

As a crucial platform for the sustainable development of the global battery industry, CIBF2026 will concurrently host high-end forums such as the “CIBF2026 Advanced Battery Frontier Technology Exchange,” the “Electric Aviation Next-Generation Battery Technology and Advanced Manufacturing Exchange,” the “6th New Energy Storage Technology and Engineering Application Conference,” the “Annual Meeting of the Lithium Iron Phosphate Materials Branch,” and the “3rd International Conference on Battery Passports.” These forums will bring together corporate leaders, research experts, and industry scholars to engage in dialogues on topics including zero-carbon manufacturing, circular economy, and carbon footprint management, promoting clarity in industry consensus and action pathways.

On the occasion of World Earth Day, we sincerely invite enterprises, experts, scholars, and industry professionals from the global new energy sector to actively participate in CIBF2026 and gather in Shenzhen. Let us harness the power of industry to link the global green industrial chain, support the Earth’s zero-carbon transformation, and collectively advance toward a sustainable development path.
