Montreux, SwitzerlandMay 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — From April 27 to 28, 2026, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Annual Meeting was held in Montreux, Switzerland. As a premier global forum on sustainable development, the conference brought together nearly 600 participants from leading companies worldwide to discuss key topics such as 2030 emission reduction actions and the circular economy.

Andy Zhou, CEO of Linglong Tire, delivers a presentation at WBCSD
Andy Zhou, President of Linglong Tire, was invited to attend and deliver a speech at the “China Sustainable Business Practices” thematic session. He stated that against the backdrop of global “dual carbon” goals, sustainable development has become a mandatory task for enterprises. Linglong has integrated green and low-carbon concepts into its core strategy, committed to building a green ecosystem covering the entire industrial chain. The company has set clear carbon neutrality targets: reducing emissions by 52.07% by 2035 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
During the meeting, Linglong Tire was officially awarded the WBCSD membership certificate. As the first tire manufacturing company in mainland China to join the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR), Linglong supports FSC-certified natural rubber projects to help improve rubber farmers’ livelihoods, promote forest conservation, and safeguard the rights of workers, indigenous peoples, and local communities. In the field of resource recycling, Linglong actively promotes the application of liquid waste rubber and recovered carbon black to efficiently utilize waste tires and achieve a closed-loop resource cycle.
A highlight of the conference was Linglong’s showcase of its newly developed tire composed of 85% sustainable materials. This tire uses over 60% bio-based renewable materials and approximately 25% recycled materials, leading the Chinese tire industry and ranking among the global frontrunners. It replaces traditional petroleum-based raw materials with innovative materials such as rice husk ash silica and bio-based rubber, significantly reducing the product’s carbon footprint from the source. More importantly, the tire maintains excellent performance, achieving the highest “Class A” standard in the EU tire label for key indicators such as rolling resistance and wet braking.
Andy Zhou stated that the 85% sustainable material tire is just a new starting point. Linglong’s long-term goal is to achieve 100% sustainable material tires by 2040. Joining the WBCSD marks international recognition of its sustainable development achievements, and the company will deepen its participation in global discussions on related topics in the future, working with all parties to promote a green mobility future.
