Budweiser China Launches “Carbon Reduction Partner“ Model, Building a Concentric Circle for Carbon Reduction
Budweiser China has long promoted collaborative carbon reduction across the entire chain. This year, it innovatively launched the “Carbon Reduction Partner” model, mobilizing multiple forces including local governments and the industrial chain to accelerate infrastructure improvement and technology implementation.
To address production heat energy needs, Budweiser China proactively integrated suppliers’ recyclable resources and the platform advantages of local governments to implement the “Waste Heat Recovery plus Biomass Heating” project. With support from the local government, Budweiser China coordinated the construction of dedicated pipelines to transport waste heat from the production processes of Fujian Great Wall Huaxing Glass Co., Ltd. to the Budweiser Shuejing Brewery, providing thermal energy for beer production. Simultaneously, leveraging the platform strength of the Putian Municipal Government, Budweiser China partnered with Putian Sanxiang Xinghan Energy Co., Ltd. to deploy a biomass heating project in the Putian High-tech Zone National Carbon Peak Pilot Park, using raw materials like wood chips and straw to further improve the clean energy supply system.

Based on the pilot in Putian, the “Carbon Reduction Partner” model is expected to be promoted to more industrial clusters nationwide in the future, allowing local carbon reduction models to be widely replicated and applied. Consolidating Heat and Electricity, Budweiser Shuejing Brewery Creates a Benchmark for Carbon Reduction
Promoting collaborative carbon reduction across the entire value chain is a long-term and systematic project. The Budweiser Shuejing Brewery has meticulously integrated “carbon reduction and emission reduction” into every production link, using digital and intelligent means to strengthen energy and carbon emission management, precisely controlling every kilowatt-hour of electricity and every unit of heat, and innovating to solidify the foundation for green development.
Among a series of carbon reduction practices, the Budweiser Shuejing Brewery has formed a shining industry model focusing on the two main sources of carbon emissions: “heat” and “electricity.” In terms of thermal energy management, the brewery has achieved “0 steam” on its packaging lines, replacing traditional steam with high-temperature hot water, with thermal efficiency ranking first within Budweiser APAC.
In terms of electricity usage, the Budweiser Shuejing Brewery boasts the largest distributed photovoltaic system in the beer industry. The rooftop solar panels generated up to 19 million kWh of electricity in 2025, meeting nearly a quarter of the production electricity demand. Apart from photovoltaic power supply, all remaining electricity is purchased from green power, achieving 100% green electricity supply.
The Budweiser Shuejing Brewery has also extended its green electricity practices from the production end to the logistics end, collaborating with its carrier, Fujian Wangwang Automobile Transportation Co., Ltd., and Fujian Qiyuan Xin Power Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of State Power Investment Corporation Limited, to install vehicle charging stations on idle land within the production park. The project effectively addresses vehicle recharging needs, and the charging services cover all enterprises within the park, effectively promoting the application of new energy vehicles and facilitating the spillover of carbon reduction benefits. At the event, Budweiser China awarded Fujian Wangwang Automobile Transportation Co., Ltd. the “2025 Green Logistics Pioneer Award,” truly extending the green concept from the factory to the road, and from the enterprise to the entire industrial ecosystem.
Supported by an efficient operating system and cutting-edge green practices, the Budweiser Shuejing Brewery has been recognized as a National Green Factory, selected as a typical case of “Waste-Free Factory” by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and included in the Ministry’s “2025 5G Factory Directory,” becoming a benchmark for green, intelligent, and efficient development within the industry.
