Since its inception in 2010, the awards have been dedicated to recognizing excellence and innovation in the planning, operation, and management of sports and entertainment venues worldwide. This year, the judges highly commended KTSP for its outstanding achievements in venue performance, innovation, operational management, and customer experience, further solidifying Hong Kong’s status as a global hub for sports and major events.
The competition was fierce, with the shortlist including world-class venues such as Co-op Live in Manchester, Croke Park in Ireland, Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool, Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, and MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA. Within just one year of its opening, KTSP quickly became a focal point and excelled, standing out on the global stage.
Kai Tak Sports Park Elevates Hong Kong’s Culture, Sports, and Tourism to New Heights
In just 15 months since its opening on March 1 last year, KTSP has rapidly reshaped the local ecosystem for sports and live performances, becoming Hong Kong’s “home ground.“ To date, the park has hosted nearly 150 major international and local sports and entertainment events, including the iconic Hong Kong Sevens, world-class football matches, and concerts by international superstars such as Coldplay, BLACKPINK, and TWICE, attracting global visitors to Hong Kong. The utilization rate of the Kai Tak Main Stadium and the Kai Tak Arena has reached nearly 90%, with the Kai Tak Main Stadium having received over 2.4 million spectators.
