The Hong Kong Corporate Governance Association Announces Appointment of New President

Hong KongJune 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (the Institute) is the only organization in Hong Kong and Mainland China that awards the internationally recognized professional qualifications of “Chartered Secretary” and “Chartered Governance Professional.” The Institute is pleased to announce a senior appointment:

Effective July 1, 2026, Ms. Lam Hiu-lan will officially assume the role of Chief Executive of the Institute, succeeding Ms. Pang King-ling FCG HKFCG(PE), who will retire on July 1, 2026.

Ms. Lam possesses profound expertise in corporate governance and has worked closely with boards, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders across Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region for many years, driving market policy development. She has held various senior management positions in multiple corporations, most recently serving as General Counsel and Company Secretary at a Hong Kong-listed company, providing advice and support to the CEO and leadership team on day-to-day operational decisions.

Regarding this appointment, Ms. Lam stated: “I am deeply honored to be appointed as the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute. I look forward to working hand in hand with the Council, the Secretariat, members, students, and all stakeholders to fulfill the Institute’s mission of advocating for the highest governance standards.”

Biography

Ms. Lam Hiu-lan

Ms. Lam is a practicing solicitor in Hong Kong with nearly two decades of extensive experience in private practice and in-house legal roles. She began her training at Lovells and later spent nearly eight years in the corporate finance team at Slaughter and May. Since 2015, she has held various senior management positions in multiple corporations, most recently serving as General Counsel and Company Secretary at Lam Soon (Hong Kong) Limited, providing advice and support to the CEO and leadership team on day-to-day operational decisions.

Ms. Lam is frequently invited as a speaker at seminars on topics such as corporate governance, sustainable development, and industry standards, sharing her professional insights. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Hong Kong, is qualified to practice law in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and holds an Executive Certificate in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Planning.
