Li Auto Receives DEKRA ISO 26262 ASIL-D Functional Safety Product Certification

BeijingMay 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Recently, Li Auto’s independently developed Passenger Zone Controller (PZCU) project successfully passed the rigorous evaluation of DEKRA and was awarded the ISO 26262:2018 ASIL-D functional safety product certification. This certification marks that Li Auto’s capabilities in functional safety research, design, and verification for zone controllers have met international standards, further solidifying its vehicle safety technology strength and accumulating valuable experience for the development of safety technology in the in-vehicle zone controller field.

ISO 26262 is a globally recognized core standard for functional safety in automotive electrical and electronic systems. ASIL-D, as the highest safety level in this standard, imposes comprehensive and stringent requirements on a company’s development architecture, development processes, verification systems, and evidence chains. It requires systematic proof that the product can maintain safe operation under reasonably foreseeable failure conditions.

During the development of the PZCU project, Li Auto prioritized functional safety above all other development goals. To meet the highest safety requirements, Li Auto systematically decomposed safety goals, functional safety concepts, and technical safety concepts into every requirement at the system, hardware, and software levels in an engineering and structured manner. All requirements were then implemented throughout the entire process of design, implementation, and verification, forming a complete evidence loop. The successful achievement of this certification not only ensured the product’s safety compliance but also enabled Li Auto to develop a replicable, mass-producible, and continuously evolving methodology and engineering capability for ASIL-D zone controller product development.
